TVC Studio: Individual Sessions

TVC Studio

Individual Sessions

Begin your TVC Studio Sessions today, either virtually, or in person! Singers work one-on-one with Dr. Dickson to achieve their potential in both technical and musical aspects, through communication and enjoyment of the vocal journey.

We include training for competitions at all levels, including preparation for professional opportunities, graduate-level and collegiate auditions, as well as UIL solo and ensemble preparation.

As a TVC Studio Singer, we work on the overall aspects of the art of singing:

Vocal Technique: clarity of tone, registration, range, flexibility, articulation, lyric diction, and resonance.

Musicality: pitch accuracy, rhythm, tempo, phrasing, metrical articulation and more!

Presentational Artistry: interpretation, communication, memorization, facial expressions and stage presence, subtext use, acting for singers, and more!

Session Times Available:

Mondays: 10:00am, 11:00am, 2:00pm, 3:00pm

Tuesdays: 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm

Thursdays:  10:00am, 11:00am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm

Saturdays:  9:00am–4:00pm

Additional session times may be open based on Instructor’s availability.

Ms. Dickson became my voice teacher through a recommendation by a Lone Star music faculty.  Though there were many similarities with my previous voice teachers, Marion emphasized the basics of singing.  She particularly emphasized proper breathing, proper voice projections, proper singing postures, following musical notes and counts, and most importantly proper diction.  Marion taught me how to use the IPAA, made me study voice-related books, and had us do multiple recitals and masterclasses. The latter gave me confidence in public performances.

Less than a year lessons with Ms. Dickson had an immediate positive impact in my singing.  One of the most dramatic results was finishing First Place in the 2008 Greater Houston NATS Classical Singing competition (Intermediate Adult Division) and as a Second Place Winner in the same classical singing competition.”
